Make a Vertical Visualizer for Shorts, Reels & TikTok

Short-form feeds are vertical and fast. A 9:16 visualizer clip of your hook is one of the cheapest, highest-return promo assets you can make — and if you have already built a 16:9 video, the vertical cut takes minutes because everything but the Shape carries over.

Step 1: Choose a frame-friendly engine

Vertical frames are narrow, so radial and column-style engines — Radial, Bars, Waveform — read better than wide ones. Clean, high-contrast modes are a strong default here: they stay crisp when the platform compresses your upload, and they run smoothly on any device. Browse the gallery and preview a couple before committing.

Step 2: Set the Shape to 9:16

In Export Settings, set Shape to 9:16 (Portrait). The engine redraws to fill the tall frame. Because the composition changes, replay a section and nudge your Text Overlay and logo inward — a layout that looked balanced in 16:9 will crowd the edges in 9:16.

Step 3: Trim to your hook

Short-form clips live or die on the first few seconds. In Export Settings, uncheck Export full song duration and use the trim markers to cut a 15–60 second window — usually the drop or the catchiest line. The summary card shows the exact clip length in seconds so you know what you are rendering.

Step 4: Export for the feed

Set Quality to 1080p (that is 1080×1920 — exactly what these platforms want), Frame Rate to 30 or 60 fps, and Format to MP4. Export, and you have a vertical clip ready to post. Reuse the same styling across every clip so your feed reads as one identity.
